GUYS!
See if you can guess the right price!!
My C4 is at a very well known independant in the South East at the moment having a bit of work done. Now this includes a service (standard) The sunroof needs seeing to. Doesn't open just makes horrible graunching noise, apparently the gears need changing and the cables, I think they change the seals too as a matter of course. Also I'm having the front PU and bonnet (luggage compartment cover) repainted (stone chips) and a different engine cover fitted with an RS type spoiler. These also need repainting as they were fitted to a previous 993 that was a different colour.

So what do you think the final price will be?? (The wife can't understand why we are only having a week in Bognor this year)

Sorry I don't think I'll be able to afford a prize (whimper)

Anyway, GOOD LUCK!!!

Glenn Martin

£2500 maybe + abit more. More than likely way out I should imagine. Sure it will look the dogs business when you get it back mind..Just have to mind the stone chips when taking it out for a good thrashing. Thats the problem when you make them too nice. You wash/polish them & always notice new marks. Oh well, its all a joy of owning them. Could always have a Mondeo!!!?? cough cough...

Hope your be pleased with the final result.

Hi Glenn here is my guess--based on northern prices

Now this includes a service (standard) £325

The sunroof needs seeing to. Doesn't open just makes horrible graunching noise, apparently the gears need changing and the cables £250

Also I'm having the front PU and bonnet (luggage compartment cover) repainted (stone chips) £680

and a different engine cover fitted with an RS type spoiler. £1,500

£2,755

Have a great time in Bognor.

Steve

I think the sunroof work may be a wee bit more expensive than that, knowing what's involved, so I'd say a grand for the sunroof, £1,200 for the front paintwork, £400 for the service, plus all the little extras they'll find need doing, say another grand, plus £1,500 for the rear spoiler, I reckon you could be looking at £5,000 all in, depending what they find needs doing at the service.

Wow Guys
What a response! and a fair old mixture of guestimates. I wonder who is the closest? I hope it's the cheapest one. (In vain probably) I'll let y'all know soon as I get it back.

PS I won't be able to afford to go to Butlins.

Having just spent close to 4K getting the exhaust shields, headlight lenses, front discs, service and a few other bits and pieces sorted I reckon 5K is closer to the mark here. My guess is £5,250

Total guestimate £3,350 incl labour excl VAT, excl the inevitable service findings for oil pipes, brakes, disty covers which will add another £1,000

Presume cost of the new engine lid is not included as you just mentioned fitting.

this is most likely:

£4128.29

Just a wild stab in the dark.....

My first service £1500 alone.......new disks and pads and other sundries.....

will look the dogs when done.......post some before and after pics !!!!
