Will the 8j ET 30 rims that are the rare versioins fitted to some 993 C4s fit on the rear of my 944 s2 cab?
I worked out that they will stick out about 12mil each side more than a 9j et 55?

Anyone know how close does a 9j et 55 run to the arch.....? Anyone tried these ET30 8js on the rear of a 944 or 968?

cheers

I had 10J ET 53 (I think) on my cab for a while and they were fine at standard ride height. They are circa 51mm wider (25.4mm each side) and with a 23mm different offset, so the 8J ET 30 should be 2.4mm less sticky-out than mine.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]

Are they 18 incher's?

I reckon your calculations are about right.......! what size tyre did you run, I am probably thinking of staying narrow with a 225 or 235 45 series?

The 9js are fine, but I worry how heavy they are compared to the stock 16s. Also, i find the car is too understeery as is, so with great big 265 s on the back, it would turn like an oil tanker!

Yes they are 18's and the rears you guessed also at 265/35's. They did nothing for the handling, but they looked the mutts.

I would think that 225s on an 8inch rim will look very narrow and unless you have a tyre with a very wide rim protector you will leave yourself wide open to kerbing problems [] like some of these VW Golfs that have fitted large wheels but narrow tyres?????

You also need to be careful to check your rolling circumference as you could put your speedo well out if you use an odd profile (eg 235/45R17). Check out the permutations using the speedo calculator in the garage shop manual at www.clarks-garage.com

They are Mille Miglia, I don't think genuine 18" Cups were available until the angled spoke "Technology" wheel from the 993 TT.[FONT=verdana, geneva"] [FONT=verdana, geneva"]I don't know that 225 would be too narrow for 8". It's borderline too wide for my 7" track fronts. 235 might be a better bet though.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]
