Hi Guys,
Back in Nov I posted a message for help with engine noise coming over my Radio/CD unit.
After being checked out at the Car Hi-fi place and changing leads and head unit the noise was still present. They wanted to fit a suppressor which I wasn't accepting.
Well I decided to take it to my local specialist who decided to drop the king lead of one distributor at a time to see if the induced noise stopped.
The idea being that as the car has two units for two plugs in each cyclinder that it should run on one bank of plugs.
The first one we disconnected and the car wouldn't start. On investigation found the inside of the unit smashed due to a collapsed bearing.
Hence had to fit new distributor at the cost of 500 pounds including fitting etc.
Now car runs even better, no radio noise and very pleased at last.
May be explains a slight loss of power when I had it on the dyno. Will re-test in the spring.
