Hi guys

A friend of mine is facing engine rebuild or replacement on his 1989 3.2 Carrera. Has anybody had experience of replacing the 3.2 with a 3.6 engine out of a 993?

Many thanks

Darren,
Its quite a popular mod nowerdays, Colin Belton is the man to talk to and his company (I can't remember the name of it at the minute ...Ninemeister?!!) does plenty of these.

I have a 993 Varioram engine my 1983 911 SC - the conversion was done a couple of years by JM Autos. I've got to say that it is awesome. The extra power and torque in a relatively light car really makes a difference (especially with the lightweight flywheel). The conversion went relatively painlessly. My car was featured in the 100th edition of 911 and PW if you wanted to get an idea of which parts were used and cost etc.

Definately recommended [:D]

Gives the option of supercharging later on too!

Thanks guys I will pass the info on.

I will alswo dig out the back issue of 911 & PW out of curiosity.
