I have just given the Targa an absolute 2500 mile hammering over the last week visiting.....
Germany (Nurburgring !! [8D])
Switzerland - god doesn't everybody drive slowly there ? This is where Captain Slow was created.
Italy - all the way to Modena, then onto Bolzano in the Sud Tyrol
Back into Switzerland via the Stelvio and Berninapass - what wonderful roads []
Back into Germany via Austria, back to our friends B&B near the 'Ring then back home to Richmond.....
Whilst in Modena I visited Maserati, Lamborghini, Pagani, Ferrari and Ducati. I managed to meet Horatio himself at Pagani where he signed a Zonda print for both my brother and I and posed for photos (take a look at www.motorstars.org for the guy that does the tours - highly recommended !)
The car behaved beautifully in temperatures over 30 degrees, steaming down the autobahn at speeds which would earn you a free holiday courtesy of HMP in the UK, winding up and down mountain passes, cruising through Italy checking out the local talent.....etc,etc,etc.....you get the picture.
I've had this car for nearly seven years now and it still doesn't fail to bring a smile to my face . However, if I'm ever tempted to change, the beautiful 993rs we rode in convoy with near Liege on Saturday might just fit the bill.
That's enough of me pretending to be Judith Chalmers off the telly !
