I have an Arena red 1996 993 with grey interior,can anyone decipher the codes in handbook as to which is the grey trim--is there more than one?

It's very difficult to identify an interior colour from codes as there was a different code for each combination of colours. So you could have marble grey seats and door cards and black dash and door tops, or black seat, grey dash etc. For grey, you will have either marble grey (very light grey) or classic grey (mid grey). As a PCGB member you can get a free certificate of authenticity for your car from Porsche GB in Reading. That will tell you what the original build spec was.

Should be one of the following:-[;)]

BG Chestnut Brown
BM Chestnut Brown
BX Chestnut Brown
DF Classic Grey
EB Black
FE Midnight Blue
FJ Midnight Blue
FK Midnight Blue

Congrats on having an Arena Red car. I saw an Arena Red 993 Turbo in the Swiss Alps a few weeks ago. Parked outside a shop where I was buying an ice cream[:)] after a long hike, it looked absolutely stunning. (As did the girl about 25 who was in the shop and turned out to be the driver, 993 drivers seem to get getting younger....)

Classic grey is common in Arena red.

but......

watch out marble grey which is light looks like classic after a few years, if you cant find the code the vinyl covering on the back of the seats or possibly the rear seats are a better indication of the colour.

Hi-I have an arena red (1996) coupe which has classic grey interior. If you cannot find the code listed in your car then send a picture and I'll let you know if it's the same.
Interesting comment on the colour from mark. Many seem to avoid anything that is not silver blue or black and yet I always get positive comments on the colour from passers bye and porsche folks themselves. It is a colour that changes depending upon surroundings.
Regards
Robert

Photos can be tricky when the light changes due to flash etc!

The "codes" listed above are build codes so dont worry about them to much

What colour are the carpets? If the same grey the drivers one should have a sticker under it on the plastic section, the last 3 digits are what you need to know

4XR = Classic grey

DDQ = Marble grey
