Description
The 993 version of the evergreen 911 is sometimes described as the "King of Porsche". This book chronicles the development, racing history and all ownership issues of the 993 in tremendous detail. Containing a buyers/owners guide and well over one thousand photographs, this book features incredibly in-depth information about all aspects of the Porsche 993.

Synopsis
This book about the Porsche 993 is the third of a planned six covering a range of Porsche models. This book carries on the tradition established with the author's first Porsche 911 book (Robert Bentley) which covered the 964 series. Contains absolutely everything a 993 owner needs to know. Every model and version is included. Engines, transmissions, suspension and how to improve the performance are covered as well as the fixes for common problems.

This book really is the essential companion for the 993 owner or would-be owner. No need to ask questions online anymore, the answers are all here.

Amazon are showing a full price of £39.99 and are selling it for £34.99 +pp.

Play.com have it up at £29.99 delivered. but they don't have in stock yet

so do tesco, but add £2.74 for PP, but they did have stock, last time I checked...

Too late, just got an email saying it has been dispatched.

That is some service as it was not due until 18 Feb.

Just got mine direct from Veloce ... first impressions are not too good .... it's not well written, more cobbled together ... plenty of errors, as expected. I had some correspondence with Veloce after they posted a few sample pages on their web site, but it was too late to fix anything.

No disrespect to Carrera 4 S owners, but 'King of Kings' ... !! prrleease !

Will report further in the fullness of time .. !

cheers, Maurice

errors... ? or disagreements in opinions ! [8D]

The book was waiting for me when I came home tonight. Just had a very quick flick through and it looks a bit like an upmarket Haynes manual, which is just what I want, with pictures to try and make any of the DIY resonabily idiot proof.

Also could do somebody a serious injury if used as a blunt instrument [:D]

Did you mean wieldy?

Only perhaps in the sense that if you wielded it as a weapon you could do a lot of damage ... ! [:D]

cheers, Maurice

PS Had a little more time with it, the writing is very poor. It's set out like 2.5 million bullet points, and quite folksy and inclusive. Joanne quite pleasant, tho' ... [;)]
LOL! Is Joanne worth c30 quid, though???

I hate paying good money for bad writing. Feel I should have done the editing job myself (as long as the money was OK).

Mine arrived a couple of days ago. Yes, in parts a bit like a Haynes manual but not so detailed. A few mistakes and a feeling of being put together in a bit of a hurry. Six out of ten.

My experience has been this book has been slow to ship. I have had one on order from Amazon for 3 months. Got an email saying it was dispatched today! £34.95.

Looking forward to mt read.

I am starting to wonder if I will ever get my copy. First was ordered by a friend as a Christmas present. Couple of days ago she received an email from Amazon to say they could not supply and her order was cancelled.

Based on info posted here immediately re-ordered from Tesco. Received a confirmation from them and went to bed happy and dreaming of next Tuesday when book would be delivered. [:)]

Next day checked emails and low and behold a message from Tesco. "Sorry there is a delay in your order, your book will now be shipped on 28th February. [:(] Their web site also altered over night.

Went into my local Waterstones this afternoon and they had no stock either and little prospect of possible supply.

I wonder if Foyles in Charing Cross Road have copies? Will contact them next week.

I must remember that patience is a virtue.

Michael.
