Hi Paul. Nice car. Whadaya mean new? It has 9000km on the clock!! New to you I guess?!! [;)]

Tell us more about it. What do you plan to do with it?

Thanks
yes its new to me.
Me and my son graham are going to share the car in some open races, but will be focusing on the new
GT90,s races, that is supporting the fia Gt races.Sadly missing the first race at silverstone in a couple of weeks time,as the car will not be ready. But hopefully making the Magny cour round later in the year.
For this series the car sits nicely in the gt3 class again.
Next season there will be a series of 6 to 8 supporting races, with lots of other quality cars such as gt1,gt2,f40 etc

Very tasty, Paul. Is everything is in the engine bay original or has, for instance the inlet side been changed. The red "condoms" are interesting!

simon
Most is proper rsr apart from the inlet trumpets,i have all the original parts.Condoms are just for running around and keeping the crap out ,while the engine is fresh.(The engine is a new build in australia)
Even some nice quick disconnect fitting on the power steering pump etc

Paul

I thought the trumpets might not be original. What a nice "empty" engine bay to work around.

As you may know, I am now living in Oz (with my RS). Who built the engine?

Thanks for the info Paul. I fully intend to spectate at the GT90s series in due course. It will be an amazing chamionship with amazing cars.

Very nice car you have there. Your car collection is inspiring to say the least.

Hi Paul,
I was interested to do the revival series with a 993 RSR but when I checked the rules on the revival website I thought that the 993 RSRs go to the gt2 class and the plain 993 cup cars go to the gt3 class. Do you have any more info?
Thanks
John

Hi John
The 993rsr is not even listed, the 964rsr is in gt2 class for some strange reason and under powered by at least 100bhp.It depends how well the scrutts police the regs,as a standard gt2 racer was only 450 bhp with the correct restrictors on,anything more powerfull will go into gt1.
I am awaiting a reply from the organisers on this,as the 993rsr did only race in gt3 and some times gt4 ,depending on power to weight etc.
I have how ever asked if i can race the rs in gt3 class as my new racer is not in the uk yet,all though the rs is not a cup car.
I suspect also part of the reassoning is numbers on the grid, and a lot more 964/993 cup cars around.
The closing date for entry is monday,so i guess i will get a answer when they finaly see the entry numbers.

Well if they are allowing RSs on the grid, I might be tempted!! Only joking, I would come last.

Do it!.....your car is already at Siverstone ready to go....it must be fate [;)]

LOL!! It isn't ready yet. But if you were going to go racing, you would have to have a go at this championship, despite the expense. Amazing cars.

Nice car Paul it will be great to see you out again in the Open etc. Have spoken at lenght to Olivier to co-ordinator of the GT90s which as you know we have entered. At the moment it seems they want cars out and the class make up will be sorted on the go as such. The tech side is run by a cheif scrutineeer from that era so he knows all. Did hear though that some TVRs were running in the GT2 class with big power and only 850 kg (say they do 1 . 53 on the GP) anyway talk is easy as you know.
But the series does look good if a little costly (there is also an hour of free practic) as 10 year old cars in the Open are being outnumbered by the 997 cup hordes.Good to see Zubinn enterd at Snett this weekend ,wonder how it went?
Anyway real nice car Regards

Zubin was entered in Snett in the Open, but bent his gearbox in the week. He raced the endurance race as co-driver with me yesterday in my RS in class 3. We should see the RSR on track at Silverstone round of Open. His times from testing at Snett would have been competitive with GT3s. Will be great fun to see.

Where else can I race my 993 RS wih like minded cars/people? Class 3 is a bit thin in the Open and the 997/996 Cup cars are a little too fast. Bends fine, straights a tad frustrating[;)]

The 993rs is ok for the gt90s series,in the gt3 class. Its quite expensive though, and only 2 meets this year, silverstone and Magny Cour ,but promises 6 to 8 races next year. The aston martin intermarque can be good also.

John the 993rsr can race in the gt3 class, along with cup cars and rs etc.The 964 rsr is in gt2,because that was the class it used to race in,as far as the organisers are concerned.
Sadly i cant get my car ready in time john, its not to late to enter, but you will need a International C race licence.

Paul lots of oddities , Prosport 3000 in GT3 etc anyway all a bit of fun, hopefully we will see you there , meet a few of the guys etc I think next year will be a good series Peter
