993 nearside rear strut removal

really could do with some help please. Having trouble removing nearside rear strut because I can't remove the concentric bolt that holds lower toe arm. The bolt fouls the manifold and short of dropping the crossmember or removing the manifold (looks grim..) I can't see a way around this. I can't believe that such a design makes a relative simple job so difficult Seeing replacing the suspension is commonplace.

Pop a jack under the engine and take up the sag in the engine mounts, this should give you some more space (hopefully)

I've got the car on ramps, supported on the 4 jacking points. So the wheels etc are dropped down Ie. Unsupported. i put another jack under the centre of the engine and jacked it up, but the whole car moved. It seems the concentric bolt needs the manifold to move about 2cm for it to come free. Where should I be jacking the engine up from ?

Cheers guys. It worked a treat. Brilliant advice and much appreciated. Concentric bolt flew out. Wish I could say the same for the lower spline on the toe bar into the hub carrier. nut off, but won't budge. Sprayed wd40 into it to see if it seep through. Also try and shock it out.

This rebuild is taking its time....I just can't wait to get it on the road. Gunk is seeping from my pores...
