Hi, Does anyone know where I can get a replacement. The existing one has become extremely dull possibly as a result of the sun.
I think the part number is 993 631 130 00.
I have tried Carnewal but it doesnt look like they have these items

Try either of these 2 - Porschapart or Design911.

Both fine, based at either end of the country (England) and can mail out to you.

www.porsch-apart.co.uk and www.design911.com

Hope that helps [:)]

What's wrong with your OPC? When I needed one a couple of years back they were approx same price as every other source - including from US (after duty etc I would have paid)

Have you tried treating the existing one with anything? Before I got a new one last year when some inconsiderate young man in a Corsa drove into the back of me I treated all the rear lights every couple of months or so with, believe it or not, Meguiar's Endurance High gloss, which is a tyre protectant gel. It does not restore them to their former glory but it does give them an acceptable sheen and a bit of depth.

Wipe a reasonable amount on and leave to sit for a short while then polish it off. Worth a go as it's a fraction of the cost of new fitting - you will need to replace both indicators as well remember as no matter how good they look just now a new centre panel will show them up.

Incidently the Maguiar's stuff also works brilliantly on the black plastic on the rear spoiler, that is the air intake grill, the spoiler wall and motor cover. It restores these to a nice black but does not make them shiny

Agree with the above, there is also PORSCHESHOP, who sell new ones.

Meguiars also do a product called plast-RX. Some of the forum members on 911uk 993 forum have used this to good effect.

I would try and buff the old one, if that fails we have them in stock at £255, OPC retail is £315

Use HINDSITE this is a two pack polish designed for plastic rear screens
Used this on my 986 rear screen and also the front orange indicators.
Brilliant, the lenses became extremely dull over the years,The paste brought
them back like new.

Hi, I suggest you may be lucky and get away with some elbow grease. Whilst I replaced my reflector because it was cracked and tired looking (Design 911 may help) I had the same problem with my rear lights. I took the units out and got polishing with silver polish paste. It took a few goes but I eventually returned them to original depth of colour and shine. A lot cheaper than replacing them. Good luck I hope it works for you. Much better than spending £250-00.
