A pleasant surprise to see the Mr Frankels 993RS article reprinted in this months archive section, pages 58/9.

I remember reading this previously and since having driven more 993 RS miles the conclusion makes more sense than ever.

After having owned and driven older lightweight 911's, I remember the anticipation of my first 993RS drive, it did not exactly blow me away,

I thought perhaps the car was not on song or it was me?....was this emperors new clothes?..etc....

The conclusion sums it up very well for me, although the 993RS may not absolutely excel at anything in particular, you will find cars with better 0-60, bhp/kg etc....it is hard to think of another car that covers all the bases so well, that literally gets under your skin. Not something you even considered was likely to happen after your initial drive.

Mr F called it about right on values, but for whatever reason, pretty much moved on at the low. I recall his yellow car being up for sale in autotrader (of all places for an RS), I was keen, but someone else on here got there before me.

PiersR, have you seen this previously?....the article should make your day mate! [:D]

Yes Paul, just read it!

I'll add it to my library of magazines in which N225 HTP appears...the benefit of buying from a journalist who used pics of his own car in many articles he wrote.

The best being an issue of Autocar in 2001 when they did a '100 Best Sportscars Of All Time' voted by a well respected group of journos, F1 drivers etc. 993RS came second only to McLaren F1 and a great big pic of my car was used....my daughters regularly tell their friends at school - 'My Dads got the actual 2nd best sportscar of all time'!

Nice read.

I remember that article of topp 100 cars. (couple of new f1 owners also have either rs cs or 993 gt2s)

what colour is that blue rs ? (don't say blue!!!)

three months running for Porsche post running 993 rs articles. Guess steve king will mak it four with the silverstone classic line up.

Photo of n225 htp looking compressed down, is that going round the carousel?

That top 100 article is amusing, nothing to do with the Author owning the car at all! [:D]

I have seen the yellow car and the red car has re surfaced a few times since, but not familiar with the blue car.

It looks too dark for Riviera and not dark enough for maritime!

I recall a Turkish blue Lhd RS before in the UK, it may be that one?....or just a poorly exposed photo of a riviera car???
