I am considering looking for a LHD 993 RS - for road use (maybe a little track use). Any suggestions of good sources for these vehicles welcomed. What is the price range that I have to consider now too?

I bought a 3.3 Turbo a couple of years back, but despite being fettled and upgraded to 360bhp, it never really grabbed me as much as I hoped from my lifelong (to then) expectations. never could quite say why though! [&:] But this has now been sold.

I have just been offered a nice 2 owner silver car,55,000Km,lhd.
I will find out what he wants for it,if its of any interest to you.
Price is depandant on so many things from say 45 to 65 K£ at the moment, some are asking high money but not selling that well.

I have a LHD in Black, 127,000 Km., no airbag, A/C, manual windows. Priced at the bottom of Paul's indicated range

That sounds very fair Nick, doubt it will hang around for long.

Are you going back into an older car,,,had enough of the high tech 993? [:D]

Just for info, no personal interest , i know Nicks car and its highly representative ,mileage/condition/price .............a little cosmetic work = superb opportunity to get into rs motoring and enjoy the car for what it is ! I say this, having sold mine a couple of years ago and it will be at Oulton rs day u can all judge for urseleves how they last ............at the other extreme mint, low mileage ,both around 10 000miles or less, 1 Viagara blue and more recently red one sold either side of £100k ............funny old world!

Hi Nick
Slightly OT, I know, but how far have you taken the track preparation of the C2? Are you pleased with the results and how would you compare it, on track, to the RS?
Cheers
Johnny

Hows this for a wanted ad....

I would love a SPEED YELLOW or possibly a rivera BLUE 993 RS - lhd / rhd / big spoiler / large spoiler / dentist spec / light spec / comfort / clubpsport - call me a tart but the colour is the important factor, of course along with it being a straight car.

seen the car advertised in france by jetset cars but theyu do not actually have the car.

Strange choice of photos of the yellow jetset car, doesn't give you much of a clue....exactly how keen are you to buy a speed yellow 993 ? [:D]

Very strange photos. Somewhere I have a photo of the car from when they listed it before. Maube the yellow harness are more important to them .....

Many thanks for the replies. I must apologise for not responding to this thread - I was waylaid by family events.

The bottom of the price range (£45K) is richer than I expected. I'm not sure that a 993RS is twice "as good" - whatever that may mean :) - as a 964RS (is £25K still feasible for these - maybe I'm wrong here too). I need to test drive a couple.

Beebop, to be perfectly honest a £45k 993RS will either be higher mileage or require some tidying....that is probably why it is not a £50k car......I am sad enough to track/monitor RS prices and in the current climate based on recent transactions I think £55k is the going rate for a sorted low miles original lhd car. We have seen mega low miles cars sell for £100k !!!! []

964RS prices have certainly increased in the last 2 years, they have almost become speculative! There are quite a few private cars offered in the low £40's, these are the same cars that were late £20k's only 2 years ago......quite honestly if you find a genuine 964RS for £25k I would be initially cautious and certainly have it inspected if it was a real, straight RS.
There have been a few quick sale cars come up in the low £30k's, these have been bought by dealers where they sit, offered at £40k with most of the others!
You could spend £50k on the best Lhd 964 RS lightweight, but around £35k should secure an ok example in a private sale with a little hagglng.
Rhd 964RS are nearer £62-65k now, due to their rarity.

Where the prices of RS versions have perhaps got a little emotional, you can still pick up a reasonable 993 C2 for £25k or a 964 C2 for approx £15k, there are some out there with enhancements and others further developed towards RS recreations. You should expect to pay a little more for an RS recreation car, it may be a relative bargain compared to what the seller has spend on improvements, which are never recouped at the time of sale.

I don't think even 55K will get you a low miles LHD 993RS especially if you buy from dealers. I certainly won't let mine go for 55K.

Harry, I have known 2 go through around that price in the last few months, hence my post[:)]

I appreciate past performance is no guarantee or even indication of future price trends, redemption values can go down as well as up! [:D]

agreed Harry, I had a deal on mine for £65,000 from a dealer, I pulled out of the deal as could not let the rs go.

What were you going to replace the RS with, Steve?

Between 40-50k miles Harry...yours is obvious very low miles for a '95/6 car.

I also have 41 clicks on mine.....if they are very well bid in the summer.I may well be tempted to do something I may later regret! []
