993 rs recaro's

Now believe the 993 rs recaro is slightly wider than the 964 rs recaro, meaning 993 drivers are fatter [:D]

i seem to recall that the 64 rs seat have no springing under the cushion just a booster piece of removable sponge on velcro and then the frp shell , 93 recaros have a sprung section between the frp shell and the cushion you sit on dont they? or is that 968 cs recaros anyway that is about the only difference i have ever seen on these seats which i believe are all the same width ,I.E the wide version that old favorite the rearo spg.
Regards C

It's correct that the 993RS Recaro is sprung whilst the 964RS is straight down to the shell ...

Steve, now I understand your questions on this. Your seats are 964 style and you are finding them a bit 'snug'. You can buy wider recaro SPG and get them trimmed by Southbound to match or you could stop eating all those pies!

Hi Steve,

Don't know what mine is, not paranoid enough to worry about those things !

See you at Oulton my friend.

dont know it or wont admit it, we know you like a pie or two and there will be plenty in supply at Oulton,,:p lol

There is no point in buying the wide spg as the width is identical to the porsche rs seats anyway, porsche obviously knew that the majority of people who could afford an rs (964 or 993) were too big for the proper racers std width spg!!!.and then they went all soft on the 993 and put some springs in it!!!. Ive got a proper pair of unsprung std spg's in my 993( i only wish it was an Rs) and when i first drove it after the installation i thought id just put on a pss10 set up.Communication through the seat is amazing not to mention the hold is so firm i dont really need a proper harness to restrain me.Took some serious weight out of the car to boot. bit of an art to get in and out of cleanly mind!.
Anyway i shall stop rambling .

Ha ha...must confess I have to carefully plan my entry/exits with the RS to avoid undignified 'falling' in or 'scrambling' out......

Distinct lack of springing in the seat bases of 993 CS and Cup versions...no doubt that contributes partly to the difference in feel.
