993 RS Seats

Boys, are the Recaro Furious / Pole position seats the same as the seats fitted by Porsche, or near enough ?

They seem to look the same, does anyone know for sure please ?

Thanks

Those are the chaps, black nomex in CS, leather tri colour in the regular recaro bucket equipped version of the RS.

Do you need the part number for the "RS" badge for the engine lid or do you already have one fitted?? [:D]

I have fitted Recaro Pole Positions to my 993 track car, they were a straight bolt in fitment with the specific Porsche sliders. They are narrower than the seats in my 993RS and the sliding mechanism is different. Southbound will retrim them to look exactly like the RS seats.

the only difference between the RS seat and the Pole position is the raised ridges on the RS seat back, and smooth on the Pole position.

Hi Nick, thanks for the comments, can I use the runners for the forward and backward adjustment from the std electric sports seats ?, appreciate I also need the Recaro side brackets.

Paul, how close are you getting with the RS recreation are you going all the way, fiting side sills, wheels, seats etc...looking forward to seeing it at some point even in picture form......can't believe you actually parted with your red one though

In a nutshell as close as I can without spending any money. Sounds daft I know but I have just got (today) more for my retrimmed std seats than I can buy a new set of Recaros for.
Sold Techart wheels last night and put a bit of money in for new RS speedlines, arriving tommorow.
Have RH RS 1 piece copies as on GT3 before with new Toyos for trackdays (look good too).
S/H Side sills coming next week.
Did RSR exhaust mod last weekend and have a new set of stainless sports boxes to go on once I mod as they are to boomy between 2&3 k revs.
May fit a half cage ......
Have H&R adjustables, cup filter, chip, and big reds fitted to car already.

Im getting there ! [;)]

Paul sounds good, you are doing great things to the car by the sounds of it [:)].

And when it is done it will be even better than an RS as you have those leccy windows, headlight washers, sunroof etc... that would cost a fortune to replicate [:D]

Had to say something didn't you [:(] .............. and there was me thinking you were being nice for a change !!

Huh, are you suprised???...it's all banter isn't it? [:D]......you know like the guys who slags off air cooled cars for years, then suddenly out of the blue starts making replicas in hommage to one of the greatest Porsches ever! [:)]

I have tried to answer your questions all along the way where I can from past experience etc....

I heard through the grapevine the next step is 964RS bodyshell to get the ultimate recreation....[;)]

Seriously Paul all sounds very nice and am sure it won't be far off the real deal "Dentist Spec" 993RS probably better and more user friendly.....[:D]

All taken as intended mate, dont worry.

I value your input and knowledge on the "old stuff" [:D], and sure to have a few questions for you again after another weekend in the garage.

Saw the car at club night Paul as I was on my way out. Would have come back to have a chat but work called. Looks good and will make a great track day car for a fraction of the real thing.

Yes I hope so, and as clubsport says when I get all hot and sweaty out on track I can open up my sunroof [:D]
