993 RS split rim refurb, my results.

Chaps,
I have just got my 993 RS wheels back freshly refurbed by Adrian, a 964 RS owner on this board and PCGB track day regular that some of you know.
I have 2 sets of Speedlines, Adrian only refubed one set so far. Here is a comparison photo of one of my refurbed wheels versus one of my yet-to-be-refurbed wheels:

And another:

Here is a close up of the god awful mess that Speedline splitrims end up like after a few years:

But just look at what Adrian has achieved:

Notice the legend, "Speedline for Porsche". This a a sticker, but it looks just like the etched-in version that comes on the wheels when new. Refurbishment takes the legend off, but Adrian's stickers are more than satisfactory in my view.
And finally, even the backs of the wheels look great:

I am made up. Now I must get the refurbed set on before Spa!
Adrian charges far less than the (only very limited number of) companies that do refurbs for split rims. If you phone him, he will give you a price:
Adrian on 07831 572087.......and tell him I sent you.
He's the bloke in the Maritime Blue 964 RS with an annoying habit of overtaking you at track days if that rings any bells. ;)
PS...I know that some of you would want your rims anodysed and Adrian says he will look into doing this. But you won't get the glorious polished shine as above if you do this. I may get my other set anodysed, I'm not sure.

Very nice work!

I notice that the 'Speedline for Porsche' graphic is there; was this etched back into the wheel after refurbishment, or is it a decal?

Looking good Doc, but surely you'd be better off with the old wheels at Spa. Just think of all that horrid brake dust over your gleaming rims[;)] You'll be cleaning them during the lunch break.

Hi Mate,

Well, the refurbed rims are going on and staying on!!!!!! I will soap them down after day one at Spa, but I would always wash them after a track day in the UK anyway.

The way I see it, the BBS aluminium alloys that I want are the same in that they aren't lacquered or anodysed. They will need the same TLC as my refurbed BBS.....so I better get used to it now!! [:D]

Just get Mr Cohen to clean them -he spends more time cleaning his wheels than on track....[;)]

johnny...wheels looking very nice indeed. did adrian use your original bolts or has he got a source for them ? mine coming back from refurb in a week's time so will post some pics of those when I can....be chuffed if they come out as well as yours.
