993 RSR Numbers

Can't seem to find much about RSRs on the internet. Looked at Porsche 993 the essential companion and now I am more confused. According to the book between 1994-98 a total of 374 RSR race cars were produced of which 27 built in 1998 (WPOZZZ99WS398001 to 27) were the RSR evo for sprint racing with about 410hp. Always thought RSRs were around 360-380hp.

The numbers for 993 cup cars are 1994-95 142, 1998 30. No numbers for 1996 and 1997.

I'm confused, because I have seen lots of cup cars in the metal and for sale, but very few RSRs. Are these figures correct and there are lots of RSRs hidden somewhere or are people talking about the RSR evo when they talk about RSRs. Educate me please!

Cannot help you with RSR numbers but I can tell you that there is a lot of B***ocks talkied about chassis numbers. According to the data in the book 993 King Of Porsche mine should not even exist! THe factory are very coy indeed now about giving out chassis number details or production run details. According to guy there who runs Porsche Archive thsi is because when they gave out all the data for the 2.7RS book, Carrera RS, it resulted in a lot of correctly specced fakes appearing.

That book is shocking
993rsr produced very late 96 and 97,have found 18 cars, out of 22 from factory info.
The 964 rsr was built in more numbers, people get confused with 993 rs cs /cup and rsr
