993 side bolster seats

OK, I'll stick my neck out and say "don't they all have bolsters?"

If you mean cushions that project upward at the sides of the base cushion and the ones that project forward at the sides of the back rest, then mine have bolsters - but so does every other 993 seat I've seen.

So obviously that's not what you are after???

No Mark they are more common on 964's but were also available on early 993's. I can't figure how to load pics on here as I've saved one but if u put in google ' seats with side bolsters Porsche 993' u will see what I mean. My ones are just not supportive enough in bends. Not sure how good the 'sports seats' are

993 sports seats were an option and do sometimes come up for sale on fleabay, etc but as you would imagine are not particularly cheap. I've sat in them and they certainly seem to give more support than the standard seats but have never driven or been driven in a 993 with them. I have to say though that I've always found the standard seats give plenty of support, even in spirited drives. Maybe you just need to eat a few more pies so you fill out the standard seats a bit better David [:D] [:D]

Mark - the bolsters to the base and back of the seat are deeper and a bit firmer in the sports seats than the standard one.

Tks for that I'm on the case!!!

Take a seat David - with 22 bids already and still a day to go looks like someone is going to have to dig deep[:(] Happy Bidding[;)

I'll second that, my 94 MY car has them, but they're not black ! They were an original option, and are brilliant in my view. They make it a bit hard to get in and out for the, ahem, "heavy" driver.

Me too - I now understand why I did not understand the question - they are what I have in my car (indeed in black, although mine don't look in such clean condition). I'm really pleased with them, although did not realise till now how pleased I should be. Good luck in the bidding. I suspect they were a couple of K in the mid 1990's - does that make them worth more now for rarity and inflation?[8|]

They are also obviously original items so dont look out of place. They were on more 964's than anything I think. They already looking expensive to me with a while to go

Just checked price list - a bargain at £555 in 1995 (probably "each" as the left and right have different option codes)
No Cost Option on the RS![:D]

My '94 MY early sports seats have front and rear electrical height adjustment, and that is all. Seat back and forwards, and back adjustment are manual. There is no heating. I think all 993s I have seen had that, so maybe that was standard ? They are very heavy, I will say that for them.

I still have these for sale:

Not quite the same, but not £1750(!) either.

I've had a couple of 964s with these seats and they're great.
My 993 came with Recaro Pole Positions (and harnesses and cage, etc), but I've since fitted a 'normal' interior with 993 hardbacked 'sports' seats.
Not just as 'wrap around' as the 964/early 993 ones, but very supportive.
The bad news is they're around 1500 quid a pair on EvilBay.
Best Rs,

Jon

those ones at £1750 didnt sell. They got bid up buy the seller seemingly...they been relisted

Hope he got reported to ebay, I hate that sort of thing

Take your point but hard to prove if he has a mate bidding for them. I'm told the electrics on them don't work either. Less people that bother watching it the better
