Hi

Main speakers on my 993 seem to have collapsed - bass is very broken

Any suggestions for suitable replacements - would like ones that fit directly, without modifications

Sound quality is not the primary concern, as you can hardly hear anything with the roof down anyway [:)]

Pete,

I had mine changed a few yrs ago (front door and rear shelf) they are Alpine, and they are rubbish! Basically, in my case, I need to spend some money on upgrading the head unit, get a decent amp etc... I guess what i am saying is that it is like opening a can of worms, you start looking at the speakers, and you end somewhere else thinking about amps, sub woofer (mini one)....

Good luck, and please let us know which route you take?

Cheers, Jp

Like you say - all sorts of good stuff can come from this - Amps, sub woofers etc. etc.

Mine was a fairly painless change - see tech articles .. [:D]

Cannot believe I did not look there...[]

Have found out from Rennlist that Cab speaker apertures are smaller than those on the coupe, 4" vs 5" I believe - can anyone confirm this?

Not looking to do any upgrades involving subs, extra amps etc - save that for home - music from the engine works for me, just looking for the most painless speaker swap [;)]

Cheers

Hi,

Let me know what you go with please as I am in the same position. I think the speakers in my cab are the original "upgraded" model though. Are yours?

Not managed to sneak off to any car audio specialists yet for an opinion, but will give an update when I get it done

Mine audio is the "bog standard" set up as far as I am aware

Cheers
