993 Speedometer does not clock miles

Hey Guys need some advice here on the above. The speedo is working fine on my 993, but the mlie-meter seems to have got stuck and does not clock miles.

Any suggestions how to fix so to avoid buying new speedo?

Many thanks

Mike

How inconvenient. It's the sort of problem that needs immediate investigation. I'd be investigating which garages can fix it within a reasonable time - say, 20 years :)

It's quite common for 964 and 993 speedo's to conk out. Someone posted recently to say it's due to people resetting the trip whist in motion which strips the plastic teeth.

OPC will say replacement is the only way but I'm sure there are a few firms around who can rebuild them and retain the mileage. REAP Automotive Design is a name that often crops up on these threads so I would give them a call.
