Hi - more questions ! I have hard-back Sport Seats with Classic Grey leather in my 993... I was contemplating having the leather "re-dyed" by a professional... Any ideas of cost per seat...? And is it worth the expense...?

Thanks again...

I have tried the re-dye route and was not happy with it after a year. I am now having my seats re leathered. 350 +VAT per seat.

Save the money and have the seats re-covered.

Regards

Have they lost their colour or is it the condition of the leather (scuff marks/creases etc) that you need to fix?

Hi p27549 - Thxs for the guide figures for recovering the seats... will come in useful... how's your supplier? And how close in quality and texture are the replacements compared to the original ?

Hi Mark - Its mainly scuff marks and creases...

I looked at the dyeing route - but my leather was too damaged, so I had it replaced. Dave Nunn at Southbound motor trimmers can advise. They are porsche specialists, the best in many people's views.

My car is going in on Wednesday for new cab roof and re cover of front seats. The company is in Devon and has been recommended by the local Porsche specialist. Will let you know when i get the car back in a weeks time and an empty bank account.

Regards
Tim

Interesting responses so far. Spoke to an indie recently who suggested re-colouring is only a temporary measure, so some peoples experiences seem to be the norm.
Interested to read about recovering - and cost!!!.

Best of luck.

Hi there... I had my sports seats an carpets redone by Dave Nunn at Southbound. They also did my first 911 (SC) some 13yrs ago...

I can thoroughly recommend them.

Hope that helps!
