Hi

Just wondering if anyone call tell me how you check if my 1994 993 C2 has the steering support bracket fitted? Is there a good guide on the internet? It has 18" wheels and after reading some of he posts on the subject thought it would be a good idea to check :)

Also does anyone know where you can buy the kit? done lots of googling and unable to find anything.

It costs around £39 from your local OPC. [:)] You need to buy 2x bolts as well at around £2.50 each. The bracket is 'handed' so make sure the OPC know if your car is lhd or rhd.

And looks like this (the bright silver bar in the centre of the pic)...

Thanks for the info. Great help on where to buy :)

How do I get to where the steering rack bracket is? Is there any panels that need removing etc?

Sorry for the (possibly) silly questions, but not been under the car yet....

Pre 1995 993's need this due to the extra cornering weight when having 18" Wheels. There is a big post on the steering bracket but any 993 past 1995 had it fitted as standard I believe.

Remove the forward under-tray. You will need to put the car on either axle stands or on a ramp unless you are very, very thin!

Is that all it is![8|]

I'd always assumed this was some huge beefy bar across the width of the car increasing shell rigidity.
