993 style (Cup 2?) 17 inch alloys for S2 wanted

As the Porker si getting a bit of a birthday (steady on!?) I need new tyres all round so its time I upgraded to 17's I think, instead of the design 90's.

Anyone know the deal with the Cup 2 (993 style) 5 spokes. Do the 993 versions fit a 944 s2, or is it replca wheels or the same style wheels from anbother model I need.
I emailed Jasmine and have not heard back, the wheels I am after are the straight not vaned (turbo) style 5 spokes, but with the more bulbous wider spoke, compared ot the stock cup (1) wheel. On Jasmines sitr they show it as "993 style".

If anyone has any or knows any info on which I need to hunt for for the s2, I'd appreciate it.

Cheers

Yes the 993 Cups will fit an S2, many of us have them and the general rule of thumb is that any 944 that has ABS hubs will be able to fit Porsche wheels from a later date.

Genuine 993 cups will have their width and offset stamped either side of the valve. Fronts are 7" wide with an offset of 55, rears are 9" with an offset of 55

There is a good guide to tyres and genuine Porsche wheel sizes on this 993 based website http://p-car.com/technical/tires.htm

Cup2's quite regularly appear on e-gay, and often in Pistonheads classifieds too. I think this is a set HERE but there's no pictures.

All come with 255/40/17 rear tyres, but the 993 would be supplied with 205/50/17 fronts. These will obviously work, but are aimed at the 911's rear weight bias, and should be cahanged for slightly wider 225/45/17 when you can to retain a more neutral balance for 944.

Cheers for the help, That set on pistonheads says they are 16 inch? did any 993s come with 16s or would these be 964 ones perhaps?

The 993 might have come with 16 inch Cups, but I don't think it did as there was a 993 16" wheel with indented spokes. The 968 coupe and cabrio definitely did have 16" Cups as standard. The 964 16" wheel was the D90.

Here's a pic of my S2 with 17" 993 rims:

I bought those rims used for $600. They came with SO2s, which had enough thread to last another 12K miles before they needed replacing.
