993 Targa - Internal Electric Blind

Guest

New member
I own a 1996 993 Tiptronic Targa (my first Porsche).Recently the internal electric
blind failed for the 2nd time within a few weeks.I have been advised by a well known independent Porsche specialist that the blind is beyond help and will have to be fixed at a Porsche garage. Has anyone else experienced this problem before?

Julian,

What kind of problem are you having? My internal blind occasionally falls apart - it's simple enough to put back together, just a bit of a pain.

I know that the motor for it was replaced before I bought the car, so I'm guessing it's not an unusual problem.

Thanks for the reply - apparently there is a small plastic plug at the end of the guide rail on the left hand side - it is this plug which keeps disintegrating. So although the blind itself will operate it won`t extend properly. In the meantime the switch has been disconnected.
