hi ive seen a porsche 993 targa s 1996 manual in white with 56000k miles for sale, looking for offers what kind of money is realistic to offer? I know white and targa is not to every ones taste, but I dont have big money for a coupe, any replies would be most grateful.

Well there is no 'Targa S' maybe it's a Tiptronic S? A browse through Pistonheads will give you an idea of asking prices.

Don't understand the "S" bit but a nice Targa with FPSH and only 56K would be low to mid 30's.

By co-incidence I've just been trawling the internet for my own information on 993's and didnt spot that one.

Presuming in very good condition, no accidents, full service history

If its Manual you would expect to see it for around £27995 at a Trader and about £2k less for a Tiptronic. Privately £2 to £3k less.

At the end of the day the price is what you are willing to pay!

They are usually less than coupes and are considerably heavier (being effectively a Cab with a roof added), but if you like it go for it, but I'd drive one first.

White exterior looks nice and only white Targa I have ever seen.

That interior colour will put a lot of people off. As will the fact it is a Tiptronic and not a manual. Wheels not original either and a Targa should not be fitted with 18 inch wheels according to Porsche. Given these three things I think the price being asked is optimistic.

Ian.

Thats a Boxster Red interior, more of a brown tinted red colour than a true red like Flamenco. Quite easy to live with and hard wearing, I had it in my 993TT.

Price is well OTT for private sale, but you will stand out from the crowd.

There are a lot of things about this car that would put me off. I don't like targas, tiptronics, white paint, red interiors, being run on wheels that Porsche categorically say should not be fitted.

But the one thing that would really send me running from this car as fast as my little legs could carry me is the fact that it's only had five services in its near sixteen year existance. That doesn't seem to indicate caring owners to me, even if it has only covered 56k miles.
