993 TARGA - WINDOWS STUCK DOWN. HELP!

Hi everyone. Ive recently bought a lovely 993 targa and have had a few weeks of fun with it. Its my first 911, my first porka in fact, and it has kept a smile on my face since the day i picked it up.
Today though, I have a problem; my passenger side window is stuck halfway down.

It started a week or so back; I parked with the windows and roof down, locked the car with the PA1000 key fob, the hood and drivers window closed but the passenger window stayed open.

A few days later, the drivers window and hood were open, locked the car, roof closed, drivers window closed all but the last inch. When i turned the ingition on and tried to use the switch to close it, it didnt weant to know for a while, then closed. This has happened a couple of times.

Yesterday it failed completely; car had been sat all day in the sun all locked up. I opened up, started up, lowered roof and windows, drove about a bit, and when i tried to close the windows using the switches they both stayed open. I got out and locked the car with the fob but only the drivers window and roof closed. Passenger window stayed open an inch. Now NONE of the window or the roof work, up or down.
I have checked the fuses and one of the 30amp ones was burned out; think it was #4 the power window one so swapped with replacement. I then went to start the car but started motor turned and engine didnt fire (gulp!). Left it for 2 mins and it then started (whew!) but window and roof still not working.

My problem is that if i lock the car the alarm sounds after 30 seconds cos the window is open. I cant leave the car unlocked, theres a massive chance of rain, so is there any way at all to lock the car and disable the alarm?

A guy on pistonheads said that you can bypass the remote closure thats behind the panel in the footwell. I checked but theres only the speaker and control unit for the nokia car phone behind that panel.
Does anyone know where else it might be please?

1) I locked the car with the key, the alarm lights in the doors came on and i waited for the alarm to sound but it didnt, so seems to be ok. I could kick myself at how simple this fix was!
2) DME relay seems ok to me. Im not sure how to check for overload but all the pins seem intact/unmarked/unscorched etc and no nasty acrid burned out smell. In the bonnet there is a spare DME relay with 944 prefix on the part# (same as on the p-car linkl http://p-car.com/diy/relay/). I plugged this one in just to see and the car worked fine apart from the brakes seemed to not be assisted at all and feel very spongy (duh!?) so i swapped back and all seem ok.
3) I will try to remember to close the rof and windows BEFORE i leave the car from now on.
4) I will give the guys at PCGB a call tomorrow to get my status elevated on the forum. Cant have people still thinking I still drive a bimmer, even though my (almost) wife nearly killed me when I sold the car and turned up in a 10 year old 'frog'. She still wont admit I was right, but she also wont admit how much she smiles when shes in it.

Again, thanks for you your advice, its very much appreciated. Ive managed to lock the car, stuff some poly over the gap, and Im off the Northway in the morning to get it all sorted. I owe you a beer.
 
My other half wanted a new TT (audi thing), wasn't too happy when I turned up in a 10 year old frog either, but loves it now ;) Targas rock.
 
UPDATE: it was the window switch that was replaced at the last service, they fitted a new one and all ok now.
Oh, and thanks again for the advice Maurice, v much appreciated.
