Need to source a set of new/good second hand 993 turbo callipers and discs. Have had only limited joy from the "Wanted" forum and wondered if anyone had any ideas or leads.

Thanks

Michael

Hi Maurice,

... big reds, RS roll bars... it sounds like you've really been dipping into the cookie jar this winter. Have you added any other goodies ? Any engine mods ?

Cheers,
Marc

Promax motorsport do a Big Black kit for £900 which includes the calipers, pads, discs and stainless braided hoses. The Big Blacks were the same caliper as the Big Reds but were fitted to the 928GTS with the same discs. The only difference apart from the colour is that the bleed nipple is on the other side as they are fitted behind the hub instead of in front of the hub as with the 993 and the bleed nipple needs to be on the higher end of the caliper, but you can simply unscrew the bleed nipple and swap its position with the U-shaped pipe on the other end. So if you are not bothered about the colour this is the cheapest new kit i've seen. In fact 2nd hand Big Reds i've seen come up on ebay usually end up going for around £500 so by the time you get some new discs and pads its just as cheap to by this kit and have the new parts.

Didn't know that, the rears appear to be smaller on the 993C4S - judging by the swept area of the disc that is as I realise the caliper is not necessarily bigger but just deeper!! but looks can be deceiving. The Promax kit is just for the pair.
