Thanks again to Paul Jennings for making his car available for the photoshoot - and I think the images do it justice.

Thanks...I have yet to get a copy, so I have no idea what they have done.....how many shots did they use?

OK correction to last...I got three copies thru' the post today (!)....planning to read the article tonight in the bath. (peace and quiet you see), on first looks they used the 'normal shots'....shame they didn't use some of the more extreme ones which looked good in camera. Nikon D200 by the way, if you're interested! Hoping to get a disk from Antony ( the Photographer) of all the shots soon. I'll publish the interesting ones when I get them.

I went in to Smiths to get the mag yesterday based on this post....sold out! everyone obviously know's Paul's car is in there.

oh yes Porsche mag in the bath....plus cup of tea plus cake? heaven.

he he well if I could smuggle them in past my missus....

got the mag now - sun burnt from Harewood today so cooler bath I think ;)

Looking at the pics in the cold light of day, the colour in the mag does NOT look like Riviera....it is too dark, too blue. Noticeable when you hold the mag up to the car. I suppose it's difficult with the print process to get it spot-on......Ho hum.....

The studio lightning also makes it look like it has a satin finish as well :(
Super nice car though Paul :)

It's actually the studio walls which give the satin look. They are white ( curved-very disorientating! ) concrete, with a matt finish. I'm hoping to get the 'master' shots soon so I can photoshop them back to a better colour.......the photos not the walls!

I agree Paul, the colour seems t have been altered to suit journalistic licence.

Fab car - And interesting font......[:D][:D]

Ditto shame they spoilt the colour.

Not impressed with the writers homework as he failed to mention the 1st gear 'whine ' issue, life expectancy of the turbos, checking for oil in the intercooler and pipes, its flexibility to being upgraded and especially the throw away comment about LHD variants.

Warped 1st Gear shaft - If the car was drag-raced, the 1st gear shaft could be warped. Have the mechanic down shift into 1st gear at 25 MPH and verify that it goes into 1st easily. Also have him listen to any strange transmission noises when down-shifting. Note: The 1st gear shaft was improved in the 1997 model. Nothing terminal though

Oil in the pipes is a bad sign of them being on there way out fairly common in the US where there was a bad batch of Mahle oil filters that also contributed to the issue

I can remember speaking to a couple of independant Porsche specialists about the oil in the pipes and intercooler issue a few years back. Their opinion was that most cars have small traces of oil present in both and providing its not blue smoking on startup, its nothing to worry about. The blue smoking and heavy oil consumption is more of a worry if that starts to occur.
