993 Unstable Revs/stalling................Help

Ola, when I am stuck in traffic (approx 5-10mins) my 993 revs become unstable and struggles to pull away (appears to be missing) this has been occassionally accompanied by the odd backfire. Shortly after one these episodes the car will completely stall on deceleration( eg approaching roundabout etc). The car will start running ok after approx 2-3 miles.

On an aside...could this stalling trigger the tracker.......I am RAC Trackstars favourite customer at the moment...first name terms!!!!

Many thanks for your help.

Sounds exactly like the problem I had. Almost drove me mad.

Was in and out of the OPC many times, ISV cleaned...... all the usual stuff.

The full list of things that you will work your way through goes something like:

Plugs, leads, dist caps, rotors, dist belt, o2 sensor, throttle position sensor, cylinder head temp sensor, ISV, ..... ermmm anyone else like to add anything i've forgotten?

Turned out to be the o2 sensor.

Many thanks for the advice, the car has not had the engine wiring loom replaced under the recall notice, so is booked in (next wednesday) also an 02 sensor was reporting as defective. So will see if any of the above helps.

Cheers
