Wanted - Stunning 993

Former Club member Gusto is thinking of returning to the fold, and is looking for an exceptionally nice 993 (he's previously had a C2, C4 and Turbo). Priorities are:

"¢ C2 or C4 Coupe
"¢ 6 spd Manual Varioram
"¢ Excellent condition, full history, no rust or accident repairs
"¢ Low(ish) mileage
"¢ Good colour combo/spec
"¢ Sensible cash price

If anyone knows of anything please pm me or contact Gus directly at courtfarm@me.com

PS He may consider an exceptional 3.2 G50 or 964, but I think the 993 is his preferred choice.

Hello Oliver, its interesting how buyer demand can polarise a market. as an owner and observer of 993 and Porsches in general its interesting that the specification noted is exactly what everyone wants making such cars "the holy grail" If you introduce some compromise (colour/gearbox/drive train/body style) into the mix then availability of a nice car increases and the budget goes down. Best wishes Robert My compromise was on gearbox bye the way.....

• Coupe / 6 spd Manual • First class condition (no rust/accident repairs) • Full History • Low(ish) mileage • Good colour combo/spec • Sensible cash price
He should be able to get to 5 out of the 6 but not all 6 together :- ) Ian.

Fair enough. Gus is quite cognisant about 993s, so has a fairly clear idea of what he's looking for. However, I'm sure he would be happy to hear from anyone who may be thinking of selling something interesting.

OPC byflleet, aka camtune, have an wxcellent reputation with the older models. If you decide to go the OPC route (and I haven't for mine) they are probably the best inside the M25

Thanks for the suggestion, although it's very rare for an OPC to be selling a 993 or other early models. I know that, until recently, they weren't allowed to, as older cars couldn't meet the Approved Warranty criteria, although I understand this is being relaxed to allow some cars to be sold with an independent warranty.

This might have been the sort of thing - sounds very nice but deposit taken. May be worth checking if still available. http://www.911virgin.com/porscheforsale/836/993C2CoupeManual/

Thanks for that - looks nice, and from a good source. Now, I know it's always a contentious issue, but he's looking for a lower mileage 993 - c.30-50k mls.

Just spoke with Gus. He's had several contacts and seen a few cars, but not yet found what he's looking for. His preference is a Coupe and he would consider slightly higher mileage. He intends to use it fairly regularly.

Found one that ticked all the boxes and now at the OPC being fully prepared. Interestingly, Gus, who was originally looking for a 993, bought a '69 911T project from DDK, but I continued the search, eventually buying this one for myself. I've had a lot of 911s, inc two 993s - a '94 6-spd Coupe and a '95 Tip Cab - both bought new, so it's nice to be re-acquainted. It's not an easy market at the moment and it can take a long time to find exactly the right car, but hopefully worth the effort.
