993 window issue

Morning all, on a recent blast through Glencoe I had the drivers window down to listen to the tuneful note of the engine. Pressing the window up button resulted in no movement at all! I had another 150 miles to reach the destination so was looking forward to a really cold drive up North. Finally after 5 mins or so of pressing te button it went up again. Whew. Since then the window has worked fine but have lost a bit of confidence in it. I don't want to be stranded with the window open. Any thoughts on possible causes, or any connections I could check?

Thanks.

I have exactly the same on my passenger side 'up' on the window button - takes a few attempts sometimes for it to work ... obviously not so crucial on the passenger side as I can use the one on the other door

.. seems the window switches are notorious for developing dodgy connections - i believe there is a way of taking them apart to fix but probably easiest to go for a new switch ...

Agree - probably switch.

Just check you are not getting some rust flakes in the bottom of the door aperture. They come through the door drain holes.

If you are then the window rails are on the way out and can begin to jam the mechanism.
