when i park my 993 my windows steam up and i get a lot of condensation, can anyone help any advice pls

Check the carpets and more importantly the foam underlay beneath them to see if it's damp. The underlay alone can hold a huge amount of water (usual suspect).

After that, check the drain holes/tubes etc.

apart from all the usual wink wink, is your girlfriend / wife with you comments ;-) maybe your windscreen is leaking via the common corrosion at the base of the seal fault. Hope not as then a screen out body repair job, check the front foot wells, the foam at the front and the foam up to behind the dash for damp as this will be damp if you have screen surround corrosion. Unfortunatly your symptons were exactly what I had, and it was screen out and repair to fix. A quick and easy fix is to pull your pollen air filters and run without and see how you go, this will tell you if damp / clogged filters or similar, if still fogs as you describe you have damp getting into the car so needs to be found and fixed. Sorry Sav, but if you have had water in the rear footwell there'll be water in the front. Unfortunately the two connect under the seat !

You need to remove the front underlay as said above, and dry it out, both sides. Not an easy job.

Where are the drain holes/tubes located?

Was this referring to the sun roof drain holes (which, when clogged up, cause sun roof seepage to drain down into the car and soak the carpet)? There are two in the rear corners of the sunroof well that drain down inside the C pillars into the channel around the engine lid and two at the front (I believe but not seen these ones) that drain down to exit under the car behind the front wheels.

John,

What Mark said for drain hole location for a coupé!

For the Targa, the chances are the rook is leaking slightly. This is a little more tricky to cure, so before you start dismantling, realigning, tightening, swearing/cursing the designer (aside - I really would like to meet the person who designed the roof and blind - they have to be extremely eccentric!), do a water test on the closed roof. A willing accomplice and a hosepipe is always good so you can sit inside and watch!. In reality most Targa roofs seem to let a little through, but it should be channeled onto the plastic roof trim that acts like a gutter and takes it away to the rear drain hole. If, like mine used to be, the leak is large, it seems to bypass the gutter and drip onto the carpets. The foam underlay acts like a huge sponge and you will suffer badly from condensation.

If the roof isn't leaking, and all the carpets and underlay are dry, then I'd start looking elsewhere for the problem.

Cheers/John

Found the problem on the targa it has 2 drainaways at the front of the sunroof for when you tilt the front bit of the glass, these run into the doors rubber seals, the water runs in these , and lets the water out at the bottom by the sill .( what a stupid design) i had a split in the door seal where it was glued by the manufactorer .this was letting the water run on the inside of the pillor by the screen and onto the carpets .I took out the carpets
and underlay, wow sponge aint the word.so much water these are now drying indoors
wife not to happy but hey. re glued the joint hope it holds , if not would need a complete new door seal. hope this solves my problem will keep you all informed thanks for the advice guys.
p.s how do i put my car pics on this
