993 windscreen replacement

It finally happened this morning. Bang, big chip right in my line of view. While driving along the bottom of the Campsies.

Now I can get my windscreen creak sorted.

But question is where?

Any of you had to replace a 993 windscreen and got name of a guy who knows what they are doing with all the teflon tape etc? Happy to travel a fair distance to get the job done well.

I've had several done by Autoglass (Porsche and VW) and wouldn't go anywhere else.

John, Which Autoglass depot? I guess some of it is down to the individual who does the work on the day.

I have always used the one in Glenrothes, simply cos it's the closest, but last two times they came to my house with a mobile unit, and the results were just as good. The were doing a VW for me, but the operator actually pointed out that the screen on my then 964 was not fitted entirely properly.

Short of being able to specify the actual operative, I guess it's down to luck to some degree. Autoglass only use proper manufacturers glass though, most others use cheaper pattern copies, and this alone makes a difference. Try a few depots, see who inspires the most confidence.
