993 windscreen - take out n put back in

Hello all,

Had a new windscreen fitted about a year ago whilst having some body work done on the 993. I've noticed that the outer seal has fallen in to the window recess at the bottom edge of the screen. Obviously it hasn't been fitted correctly by the screen fitter the body shop used. Any recommendations for a good windscreen fitter in the Cardiff area (or further)or is this a job for an OPC (i've heard it's a pretty tricky job to line up the screen properly). Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks,
FG

993 Windscreens as you say can be a bit tricky especially if there not used to fitting them. We use RAC Autowindscreens which is located next to the dealership, who I've always found them very capable.

Contact number for them is 02920 712525 Mike.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Martin (PC Cardiff)

Not sure that you will be able to re align screen - I think they are bonded in and if so they will probably have to break screen to get it out.

May be able to sort out outer seal without screen removal ?

Andrew

Thanks both. I have heard from others that RAC screens in Penarth are very good, so i'll be giving them a call soon.

Thanks,
FG
