Id be interested to hear peoples opinions on the value of 16" 993 'Winter Cup' wheels. I have a set of averagely refurbished 7" & 9" wheels in boxes in my garage which I have been meaning to sell through the forum.

I linked to a set recently, freshly powdercoated for £225 and I seem to remember you saying they weren't particuarly sought after. I thought that was a pretty good price.

I'm sure I've seen them sell for more than that though.

I might be wrong but they do not look like the OEM 16" Winter wheels to me. (Although I don't see why many would care if it's just for getting around in the salt)

You may well be right Mark. I always regarded them to be the original base spec wheels, but theyre referred to as 'Winter Cups' on various German sites.

This is a set in-situ on a debut year model:

Part numbers are: 993.362.114.00, 993.362.118.01

Id had similar thoughts Dave. Im reluctant to take that route though, after criticising VAG owners for causing the cost of Porsche wheels to rocket.

Ebay - 99p start no reserve - then you will get what they are worth ;)

I've been quite surpried lately, I put a set of 16" RH cups on ebay, tyres nackered and all needed refurbing as they had been partially stripped - was expecting £50 or so, they made £190! Same again with a set of standard Impreza WRX wheels, no tyres, flakey paint, made £78.

Have to account for the 10% ebay take and the ~4% paypal will take though :(

eBay is usually a nightmare, especially for stuff that needs to be collected. I sold a pair of race seats on Nutz last week and packing and shipping them was a massive pain in the arse. I still ended up sending them even though they were advertised as collection only, too...

With regards to their value: I have wondered whether my opinion is a little out of date, as the more desirable stuff becomes too expensive I suppose that the less desirable stuff is bought by people who want to be part of the (VW) scene but who dont want to spend D90 money and that will eventually bring the price up.

In the end even 16" Boxster wheels will sell for strong money! [:D]

I didn't realise you were a Nutzer? I've sold my Eunos now but still look in on the forum every now & then. Still have an M45 kit that will need a new home!!

But yes, I had the same, with these Impreza wheels I said collection only and stated location. The buyer then realised he was too far away and needed them couriering!! In fairness though, he has paid me and said to send them when I get chance!

Ask skyline about bloomin e bay and grief from sellers, i won a set of minty schnitzer alloys (Cheap) the guy undersold them and made it very difficult for me to get them even though he stated collection in person or courier on his ad.
Pete collected them for me and the courier was sent to his house.
I actually like the look of those wheels and i am a stickler when it comes to wheels.
Certified Wheel Whore Jim.
My other garage is stuffed with various wheel tyre/combos Porsche and BMW[:)]
