993s based in East London/drive through East London

I am trying to find out if there are any members who own a 993 Carrera (non wide body) who live near Whitechapel or drive through whitechapel regularly.

The reason I ask is I am serious about getting a 993 Carrera 2 manual and most of the dealers/people who are selling 993s are outside the M25 area (I went to see one at Bath a week ago) and I need to check if I can fit the 993 Carrera in my garage. I know a 987 Boxster will not fit in the Garage as it has a large turning circle.

I have joined the Porsche Club GB as well.

I have 993 and am frequently at porsche centre east london and could pop over. However car is having some paint done at the moment so it will be a month or so I am afraid. It does fit in a standard council garage if that helps!

The 993 is a really quite small car, but if it is turning circle that concerns you - it's a quite big car. I have 3 vehicles and my 993 is the most difficult to get into my drive (and one of them is a Ford Transit).[&:]

The 993 really does have a terrible turning circle, much worse than a Boxster. So if you can't manoeuvre a Boxster in to your garage I think you're onto a loser with a 993 I'm afraid

Generally cars with front wheels that drive have poorer turning circles than those with drive at the rear (only) - out of curiosity I wonder if the 993 C2 has a tighter turning circle than a C4 - anyone know?

The C2 has the same rack as the C4 and as the track is the same they have the same turning circle. The Turbo and S's use the same rack as well, so they will have a slightly poorer turning circle due to their slightly increased track.

The 993 RS uses the rack from the 964, which has a larger ratio than the 993 rack and so has the largest turning circle of all, even though its track is less than the turbo and S's
