993tt clutch biting point

My clutch has always had a high biting point which I have accepted and no other problem with it and I have assumed this is a characteristic of the powered system.

Recently when I get in car in the morning it is worse but improves after few gear changes.

Is this a sign of clutch wearing out ( car on 30000 miles original clutch) or is it a hydraulic or other issue??

I bought my 993tt (26000 miles with I assume, the original clutch) last summer in replacement of a C2S which had just received a new clutch. The tt's biting point is somewhat higher than that in the C2S and when the car was really hot after a track session, I noticed some judder on take off. I expect to be replacing the clutch fairly soon as I reckon 30000 is about the max you can expect in these cars.

Thanks for that Martin - since I posted that message my guru Paul Mace has recommended a new clutch and I guess thats the way I will go.

On the subject of track days I was disappointed with the turbo on my first outing last year at Brands GP as the car was much more of a handful than my carrera2. OK I was on Bridgstone SO2s and standard pads but I didn't feel comfortable with the car. After 6 lap sessions my pads were smoking even after full cooling off lap. The tyres were overheating and fiddling with tyre pressures wasn't helping too much.

the Carrera2 was brilliant with Pagid Blues and Pilot Cups - I am not sure weather to invest in same for the turbo or just accept that the extra weight and 4 wheel drive are just not going to give me a good feel on track.

Any feedback from members welcome.
