993TT intercooler pipe

The LH intercooler pipe came off the other day during an overtaking move. The engine faltered, and I managed to coast into a layby where I managed to reposition the pipe and clip, though unsatisfactorily. I am worried it could happen again. Car is booked into Lovetts tomorrow. Is this a common problem? Any better solutions? Would it have damaged the engine?

Is a bit worth having everything checked !................can spin turbo to amazing levels and is a disaster waitng to happen ...........equally can get away with it and never suffer , BEST TO CHECK .............lovetts shud be well up to it! It should nt happen often especially with latest edition of reinforced pipes .
