996 4 wheel tracking

Ive a 2002 996 Turbo thats been well looked after, it doesnt even have a stone chip on it! The wheels have been over cleaned so need get them resprayed. Any advise as to where I should get these done. Also, ive had the car tracked by AMD and A&S Tyres at Chingford but the car still crabs along the road and is wearing the tyres unevenly. Any thoughts as to where to get both problems sorted?

Just got back from Centergravity with mine. Everything I've been told is true, and my car is transformed. I'm almost ashamed to realise how far out the geo was;- front riding too high, rear toes completely out, etc. Now it's more responsive, more assured and even brakes better. -and so far not tested in conditions above freezing! Chris spent the thick end of 12 hours fettling and tweeking and it cost me £450+vat, but what great value. I would take any future Porsche to him pretty soon after buying it, as a matter of course.

I posted this earlier on 911uk.com. Go no where else:

Not long back from a 200 mile round trip to see Chris, and as usual come back very happy. My recently purchased 996T had no documentation showing any geo work, so I wanted it checked out.
It was soon apparent that the settings were some way out, and the main problem being the track control arm bushes which had all delaminated, and were crocked. Options were to replace all arms, or replace bushes with Powerflex ones. Budget didn't allow for new arms, so went for Powerflex which meant more work for Chris, who as usual attacked it in his usual manner. I asked for a reduction in understeer and sharper turn in.
The test drive soon proved that the changes had done just as asked, but the car now also feels much tighter than before, and the crashing over bumps, ridges has been improved too.
He also found another couple of items that should have been found during the inspction when I bought the car, so I shall be contacting the indy concerned.
After working on my previous 964, another thankyou to Chris for keeping up his usual high standard.

i went to see chris a few weeks ago and i had similar problems to you in the all the bushes had delaminated as well. my girlfrind was a bit unhappy that a 300 pound job cost 1450 but it needed doing. he does a good job and he knows lots of little tricks(thats a good thing).

I assume at that price you went for new arms, plus a bit more? The Powerflex bushes and geo cost me £585, and the car is much improved.
He also pointed out a couple of other things that need doing. He is very pragmatic about what you must do, and should do in the future, and it's very uesful being there with him so he can show you what he means. Much better than just leaving a car with someone, and going back to collect it when finished.

Yea that was 4 new track control arms at £150 each. Looking at his scrap bin its a very common problem there was alot of 996 arms in there! He did have a turbo/gt3 arm in there i cant remember which but he said that it caost about double what mine did. Im tempted by the m30 suspension but i think that my have to be a birthday present in april next year[;)] i hope it stays at that price of £600ish. What does it retail at normally anyway? Oh when i mentioned changing dampers and stuff i.e. the car being lower due to new suspension he said it should be geo'd due to all the settings needing changin.

Edit; the car has only done 51000 miles so it won't need doing for a long time.

Mine is an '02, with just 27k on, and still needed bushes all round. The bin was empty, as he'd just got rid of about 40 scrap arms. He's kept one plus the 2 piece GT3 one. You will need a re-geo if you lower it, as the settings will have all changed.
