If I manually release and check the Roof as per the user manual Is it just a matter of reversing the instructions to get it working again

or will it need resetting

AS you know I recently had a problem getting the roof to work after removing the Hard Top

Fixed that by disconnecting the battery - Could not use my reset box

However initially it would not fully close. Kept opening and shutting it and it was OK

Seemnd OK for a couple of days but again it is not always closing fully.

Feel that some thing is catching.

How do I release the roof so I can test it manually and if I do so can I reset it to work automatically

On a BMW you pull a lever that releases the gears then reset the gears and push the roof button while turning on the ignition
On a Merc you release the oil pressure (remembering to reset the pressure when you want it to work!!!)

Thanks

Your handbook shows how to crank it up and down mechanically, but it is a real pain. The roof might need re-calibrating, which is a routine that can only be done with a Porsche tester.

Its really weird. Sometimes it works perfectly and then doesn't It opens brilliantly. But on closing it gets to within about 4 inches and tried to lock. If I hold the Button on the Key Fob down it will try again and catch a bit nearer and then I try again and pull it down Its almost as though it mechanical Which is why I suggested doing it manually to see if it was mechanical If its a real pain am I better getting it re calibrated to see if this cures the problem or try it manually of Try it manually There is a rubber buffer on the lower arm that has wear marks on it Removed it to see if it cured the problem but didnt
