Hi, not sure if my heater is working correctly.
When I set the heater to 20 oC in auto mode the car heats up as normal
If I open the doors on a very cold night (like tonight [&:]) there is no real change in the operation of the heater.
The fan speed remains at 4 bars.
OPC porsche said this is normal and any automatic adjustments are not shown on the heater display.
Is this correct ???

You should see the fan speed indicator go up and down as fan speed/demand changes. In the recent very cold weather I find that the fan stays on low until there is some heat in the engine, then gets progressively faster as the car heats up. It runs quite fast at the moment when up to temp, but I think that's just down to the outside temperature. Normally, with outside temperatures in positive figures, the fan speed goes down once the cabin has warmed up.

When your heater auto adjusts is the adjustment shown on the display (for example would it auto adjust the fan from 4 to 7 bars on the display)

Thanks Gary

Remembered this thread on the way home from work this evening. Outside temperature minus1.5 degrees and climate control set at 21 degrees. Opened both windows and sunroof (seat heater on!). No change in fan speed at first, but after a few minutes it upped from 4 bar to 5 bar. Not much of a change, but a change none the less. I was wondering though, does it increase the heat of air being blown rather than changing fan speed at first?

Hi, I had a chat with the mechanic at opc, you are right the temperature of the heater increases before the fan speed increases. The fan speed goes up slowly (approximately 1 bar evey few minutes) I tried my car again and it worked just as he said. The cars fine but think I have caught a cold [&o].
Thanks for your help.....
