996 Brakes Vibrating

Hi
I am after some advice, my car has been left out side for some time and not heavily used. I have now notice that the car vibrates when braking above 50mph and gets worse the faster I go. I have also noticed that the inner side of the front discs have surface corrosion and now I am using the car more it is wearing off but the discs are wearing unevenly. Can someone advise what the cause is likely to be.
Best Regards
Aaron

Most likely the disks are more badly rusted on the inner faces than you think. The rears seem to rust more readily than the fronts, so I would get them checked out pronto.

Thanks Richard,
The rear discs are clean and shiny, the inner front were fully corroded but since driving it again they are 50% shiny and clean but the remaining 50% is taking longer to clear. I thought it might be a warped disc or a caliper issue. I am planning on removing the discs this weekend and get them cleaned they were new discs 12 months/4,000 miles ago.
Cheers
Aaron

I am on my third set of discs in the 4 years ive had my car. They rust quickly, warp etc. Probably my fault as i probably wash the car too much, particularly the wheels. The holes in the discs often clogg and as Richard said, the internal surfaces rust to a degree that skimming is not always the answer. I skimmed my last set but by the time i got out all the pitting it was below thickness spec. Discs are often produced nowadays with very little thickness to play with and I certainly wasnt going to take a chance driving the car under specified minimum thickness.
Discs can be bought at reasonable prices at Eurocarparts and if you ask for additional reductions in price I often find they are open to suggestions. The more you but the better the deal. Oh, whatever you do, replace the pads. This was the point at which bartering came off.
Good luck..
