996 c2 2002 front brake pad question

Hi, could someone please advise me on front brake pads for the facelift 996 C2? I have purchased some OE Porsche pads from Porscheshop but they don't look like the ones that are coming off. When I queried it with Porscheshop they say thay the bits that are missing are on the shim which is glued to the back of the pad. They say take the shims off the old pads and stick them on the new ones. (they are pretty solidly on, not even sure they will unstick easily).
Should I have to do this with original Porsche pads? If so, what do I stick them on with?
Hopefully there will be a link to a pic of my original pads (showing the front and the back) and also a pic of the new ones sent to me (showing the back).
Thanks.

Steve (front brake pad vibration dampers)
Can be purchased separately 996-351-088-01-M260 (not cheap though), but you can carefully get a long knife blade between damper an pad to remove, then clean dampers smeared glue (contact) on face pop them back in callipers then replace pads so as to get them in correct position.
hope that helps

As Ashley points out Marque 21 do the shims but at £50 they've go up a lot recently I bought mine from there a few months ago and only paid £32.

Ramus look very cheap at £19 for the set (http://www.ramusporsche.co.uk/product.asp?id=642) but I think you'd need to ring to double check the price.

Porsche want £17.64 each £70.56 for 4 so £63.50 with members discount

Don't go wasting fifty quid on new shims. Get a wallpaper scraper and get it wedged in between the shim plate and the top of the pad; they'll come off soon enough. I've done this a couple of times now and it isn't a problem. I didn't bother glueing them on either, but popped them in the holes in the caliper and then inserted the brake pads with a touch of copper slip on the back.

Thanks for all your help guys. I found some new ones for £10 each at Design911. I'm pretty sure they are the right ones but they sound cheap compared to some of the prices mentioned here. Anyway, if they aren't right I'll follow Andy and Pauls advice and prise the old ones off. (I'll do that anyway and keep for spares).
I've only been a Porsche owner for about 4 weeks but it is great that I can get help like this when my lack of experience shows. Thanks again.

Sorry to restart this, but I'm not certain what to do with the shims now, do I bond them on to the brake pads with contact adhesive, or just put copper grease between the shim and the pad?
Won't the adhesive break down with the heat?
Thanks for any help.

Paul was spot on, just pop the shims into the calipers and the flat side - coat with a bit of copper slip and press on to the pads, no glue. It should be a tight fit when you put the new pads in.
