996 c2 tip - 2000 - exhaust replacement

I need some advice with regards to replacing my nearside exhaust which seems to have baffles gone.
Have seen some used models in breakers yard advertised as 3.6 only.
I am sure they are the same but does anyone know this for sure??
Have also been told tip and manuals differ too which I find hard to believe.
Thanks for any help & advice given.

If you go to any of the Ebay sites, they invariably have 3.4 and 3.6 back boxes, which are different. Try Douglas Valley Breakers - they have a pretty impressive web site (I brought an almost new pair from them at a very good price)

Porsche say you can use 3.6 boxes on a 3.4, but not the other way round. Externally they are the same, and will fit withoout any problems. The internal construction is different though, and the 3.6 boxes are slightly louder. Personally, I wouldn't put one of each on the car - best to have the same type both sides IMO. As Rod says, try brakers like Douglas Valley or Porsch-Apart.
