996 C2 won't start

I haven't used my car for 6 days and normally the unlocking procedure works ok, however today when I turn the ignition on all the lights come on but it wont turn over, just a clicking noise. The battery has been ok but I haven't checked it fully yet. Also the alarm is going off sometimes after I relock it . Could this be an immobiliser problem? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Sounds very much like the battery has died. Low voltage causes all sorts of electrical gremlins to appear. What does it read on the voltmeter with the ignition on? I would suggest putting it on a charger and see if you can get some life into it.

There is no reading on the dash voltmeter so thats probably the fault. I will charge the battery now.

thanks

Same happened on my 996T which was on a ctek. Battery just suddenly wouldn't start an lit up the dash.

i would remove the battery and run it through a reconditioning cycle - 6 days is pretty short time to go flat

at next service have the battery drain checked with different alarm status settings

The battery only had 6 volts on it when I tested it, so I currently have it on charge and will see if that solves the problem if it fully charges.

Battery now fully charged and car started first time. I think I will now renew the battery as this one is 3.5 years old. Any recommendations? The current battery is a Bosch S4 008 - 74Ah.

Thanks Mike
