996 C4 ABS & PSM Warning lights

I posted this in the wrong section !!! - hopefully this is the right one!
I have a 2001 C4 which I bought a few weeks ago from an OPC - after a couple of days the ABS and PSM lights came on and I called the dealer who arranged for it to be collected through Porsche Assistance - they have been good at keeping me abreast of developments but thus far are baffled as to the cause - they have replaced the control unit/pump assembly and drained and refreshed the system but the problem still persists. Anyone had a similar problem?
Regards
Dave

I have heard and experienced this and whilst the lights you mentioned were lit they were not reflecting the cause of the problem which was the air mass sensor. Just thought that it may help!

Hi Dave,
another Grant replying !
Can't help with this particular problem , but I think you may have fun. I had a (sort of) similar issue with electronics as the oil pressure guage has never worked correctly. Many trips to the OPC eventually led them to order a complete new instrument pod, but just as this arrived they sorted the problem whilst rectifying a battery drain issue. It turned out to be a faulty earth connection/strap affecting battery & guage ! Best of luck in finding your electrical gremlin, keep us posted.
Regards
Grant

Just thought I'd keep you up to date - sadly following replacement of the air mass sensor the problem still persists - I received an answer on Friday to my call last Monday to Porsche Customer Relations - the person dealing with my problem was very courteous and apologetic however the problem has not been resolved and although Porsche Assistance have provided a loan car - a brand new Mercedes E-Class 270 Diesel - which although very comfortable is no substitute for a Porsche!!!!!
The team seem baffled and their customer (me) getting increasingly frustrated - so far the message is "we'll sort it out - but can't tell you by when!!!!"
Any help appreciated

Gary et al,
Thanks - just returned from a business trip and still have no resolution - approaching six weeks now !!! - at least I have been provided with a Boxter S loan car....... latest thinking is the master cylinder and I await the verdict - however now I'm totally fed up with this particular 996 ownership and have requested a refund - however I'm not sure that the dealer wants to play ball.
Will again keep you posted.
Regards
Dave

My 996 goes in with a loud vibration from the Front diff/torque channel, at least you have had some decent loan cars, I'm getting a Golf!!. Not knocking the Golf's just against a 996?
Wouldn't of minded a boxster for a day or two!

I am really frustrated with some of thses dealers. Why don't they just replace all the bits it could be - surely it shouldn't take this long to find the problem?
I assume that are only a limited number fo things it could be.

OK - latest update - I now have three options - Money back, wait for mine to get fixed or choose another - what should I do?
