996 C4S considering rear Badge options

Your opinions please and if you have badge lying around in garage maybe I can purchase?

Bought a Black 996 C4S 2001 model recently and previous owner has de-badged. Personally I prefer the look with badge still on.

Just wondering what your thoughts are and where is best to buy the OEM badges. I.e Carrera 4S

I've been considering just putting 911 on the back but not sure. Also considering Carrera 4 in chrome/Matt grey and then the S in red like the brakes.

"Carrera 4S" will cost you £65 + vat, I doubt if used ones will be any good to use. The chrome "911" from a 997 is £26. BTW your car is a 2002, no 2001 C4S's

As Matthew says, it is an expensive job to replace them. Here are the part numbers and prices:

"Carrera" (Silver, C4S) - 996.559.237.07.4PU - £25.45
"4" (Silver, C4S) - 996.559.241.01.4PU - £19.55
"S" (Grey, C4S) - 996.559.243.00.D04 - £19.55

Plus VAT, so £77.46 all-in from an OPC.

Edit: And the all-important bit:

Thanks for the info chaps, I think she was made toward end of 2001 but like you say is classed as 2002.
The 996 is growing on me fast! Had 2007 cayman s before and loved driving that when going for it but hated trying to cruise as it was so noisy and the rear hatch seemed to buffer.
996 is a better everyday wepon but still lots of tyre noisy and bangs over bumps in road. Think I will try different tyres when ready. Running contis at present.
Any way badge wise I am tempted to just leave de-badged for now.
Those of us in the know will realise she is a C4S.

Lots of personal views on tyres..... I've had Contis on my C4S since Feb 2010, done 12k miles with plenty of tread left on them.... love the grip, although never pushed it until I done the Novice Track Day at Blyton Park & was amazed how planted the car was.....

Tyre noise is dependant on road surface, I found suspension quite hard but the ride is 'softened' by my full leather seats.....

3 years on, still puts a smile on my face[:)]

Get those badges back on, the 996 4S is still the 'prettiest' rear view with that wrap around reflector IMO....
