I've just received a 'Certificate of Authenticity from Porsche, who were offering this for free to members at the Boxter and Beyond meeting at Silverstone. The last item on the list of Optional Equipment which was ordered on the build states 'Carrera Performance Kit'

What did this kit consist of? The Sports Exhaust is listed separately.

I believe that is the X51 power upgrade kit. It includes a number of performance upgrades increasing the BHP of the car

It should state this under the bonnet, look at the label for the
x51 option or get your opc to check for you

Dont want to change the subject, just wondered what the certificate lists i have also requested for one which has not turned up yet and i guess may take sometime as there must be a demand on them as they are doing them for free to PCGB 996 members as well.

It list the following:

Chassis number
Model year/type
Engine number/type
Transmission number/type
Production completion date
Date of registration
Selling Porsche centre
Exterior paint colour/code
Interior material/colours
Optional equipment

All as the car was originally sold.

Got mine today.....made me chuckle as it's obviously a super rare 996 as it was manufactured and registered in 1986 apparently! (an amended certificate is on the way).

Quite nice to confirm all the data I had amassed already (and confirms everything on the car is original)....

I'm not sure either, as the X51 kit is usually referred to as the Powerkit. As Paul says, check to see if iy has X51 (or IX51) on the VIL under the bonnet or in the Maintenance Booklet. If you email me the VIN number I could look it up for you.

Thanks everyone for the info which is great news as I have now looked at the label and can confirm it is indeed X51. so if anyone else gets a Certificate of Authenticity which mentions 'Carrera Performace Kit' they should really look for the 'Powerkit' upgrade i.e. X51.

I forgot to mention that the car is a 2003 C4S
