picked up my 996 today Basalt Black with Boxster red interior, although more terracotta my wife thinks, still very nice ;-) got great performance and a suprising return on journey home 33 mpg I may have to get another one to commute in ;-)

Just one issue the valet was aweful still full of rubbish and the seats had been treated with polish, so has now ruined my jumper! Anyone have any good ideas where I could get a good valet from? Also thinking of getting all the leather done to make it fresh again. Any creams out there that would do the job?

Will clean it properly tomorrow and then post pics ;-)

Good luck with your new car.

As for a valeter - you could try Lellers [they are mobile cleaners and can be found on the Internet] - and Autoglym have numerous good products to restore and clean leather.

Many happy and safe miles.

Hi Nathan,
Excellent external colour choice, my favourite [:)]

For Leather: Gliptone liquid leather and a nice warm day. Two products - first the cleaner and then the conditioner (feeder)

yep another vote for Gliptone

Valet ? - depends what you want, but if you want the works and the car to look like it left the factory then log onto www.detailingworld.co.uk and seek out one of the companies on there local to you. You will be able to see examples of their previous work too. You need to look in the forum section called 'The Studio'

No silicon shine guys on there.

Agreed, but what is the comment about a warm day? Is it better to use on a warm day? - did my first go with it back in the depths of winter.

PS - congrates to Nathan on the car, black is the best external colour!

Congrats on the purchase Nathan, and welcome!

Mark - you are sooooo wrong. Silver is quickest, so what does that make black?

(Thought I'd get that one in before Rob and Zeb start telling lies about blue! [;)] [;)] )

Guys thanks for the replies i have now attached a small picture although it was taken late tonight as i just seem to be so busy and it seems word is out in the family so everyone wants a ride in it, once it carms down i will get some better pics and post them.

thanks for the help so far.

Nathan

Looks great, hope you have many happy miles.

Boxster red is a bit of a marmite colour on the forums, some love it, others don't. Mine has it and I like it. I have used the Auto Glym leather treatment on mine and it was ok but I can't say I'd rush to use it again.

Obviously Richard beat me to it but nice as Basalt is, blue ones are definitely quicker...

Sorry Richard I'm with Rob and Zeb on this blue is definitely quickest (or it will be once the gearbox is sorted) [:D]

"Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black." [;)]

I think blue is the quickest too. I remember 2 months of having to give various people a ride in the car when I first got it.

Ah but remember even good old Henry realised the Model T moved faster when offered in other colours!

[:D][:D]

Minny
