996 day and St Ives tour info update

Hi fellow 996ers and R24 memebrs etc joining this weekneds planned events.
Those pre-booked for Porsche centre Cambridge 996 day we look forward ot meeting you on site from 0830hrs, the event will run along with workshop inpections until 5.30pm.

Sunday St Ives tour, meeting on riverside at the tera-rooms, dispensated parking agreed with local authority and police, discounted breakfast and parking.meeting intro folllowe by walking guided tour with museum and local authority tourism and archivists 11am-12.30, returning to tea-rooms for 1pm lunch on preset menu choice follwoed by Stephen & Charlotte's wonderful photography session in this idyllic setting, out thanks to Julian & Sue, 996 register memebers whom own the tea-rooms and helped arrange the day, thanks in advance to R24 memebers John Dunn/John Stallings by offering marshalling services and thanks to gary Sorrell and team at PCC for what willbe a superb finale of 10 years of 996 annversary celebrations.

Well done for organising such a great day on Saturday. It all went well, helped by the staff at the OPC in Harston who went out of their way to make everyone welcome. A special thanks to the techician Rob who looked over my car - and told me what might need doing at the next service.

I pity anyone who was due to buy/test drive/collect a car then, they must have wondered what was going on.

It was a good idea to have a number of impressive 996s in the showroom. I liked the bodykits on those cars, even if I cannot afford one for my car!

Hope that Sunday was a success, I could not attend due to an impending visit to the Emirates Stadium..

Can I also add my thanks to all who were involved in this event - we were travelling down from Sunderland for a weekend in London (taking in the match at the Emirates also Julian - I am the Arsenal supporter and my partner supports Sunderland).
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Cambridge on the way, and the difference between the attitude of the staff at this OPC compared to my local one (I'll not say which one ! ) was remarkable !
I was also pleased to pass my driving test again (after 42 years !)
