996 distance purchasing

Hi, this is my first post so please forgive me if its in the wrong place. I'm not sure where to put it, or how for that matter! I'm an associate member currently.
Anyway, to my question: I'm hoping that I have now saved enough for a 2nd hand 996 but as I live on the Isle of Man there aren't any for sale. If there are any for sale they are usually overpriced. I'm sure I read somewhere that there are members who can source cars who have expertise and experience far beyond anything I would have, and wondered if this may be the best way for me to end up owning my dream car. Any advice would be gratefully received. Thanks.

One way of doing it is to find a car you like online (PH is a good example as Stuart mentions) and getting someone like Peter Morgan (http://www.petermorgan.org.uk/inspection.htm) to look it over and let you know if it's a good buy or not. He will send you a big report with pictures and a valuation. He is very good at what he does. Otherwise I know a member who does this kind of service, his name is Adrien Ong and this is his website

Tell him I mentioned him to you and I'm sure he will do a fantastic job, he is very knowledgeable.
Good luck!

Ok Gents, thanks for your replies. I'll contact them in the new year and see what they say. I found another called Adrian Crawford too. I would prefer to use someone who has been recommended on this forum though. Hope I'm not breaking any rules here asking for this sort of advice.
